Jacob Turner, Heath Bell and Steve Cishek combined for a three-hit shutout as the Miami Marlins stopped the Cincinnati Reds 4-0 at Marlins Park on Friday night. Turner. who picked up his first Marlins victory since he was acquired from the Detroit Tigers, went seven innings and gave up two hits. Bronson Arroyo(12-8) took the loss for the Reds as he allowed four runs on nine hits in six innings pitched.
Rob Brantly began the third inning with a single to right-center field. Two batters later, Brantly advanced to second on a single by Bryan Petersen. Justin Ruggiano drove Brantly in on a double into center field.
Greg Dobbs led off the fourth inning with his fifth home run of the season on a 2-2 pitch to right field and extended the Marlins lead to 2-0.
Miami added two more runs during the fifth inning. Ruggiano and Jose Reyes both got singles to center field with one out. After Giancarlo Stanton popped out to second, Carlos Lee smacked a two-run single to right field.
