The Miami Heat snapped a season long three-game losing streak with a 99-90 victory over the Washington Wizards at American Airlines Arena on Monday night. Dwyane Wade played in both ends of back-to-back games for the third time this season.
The first three minutes of the game belonged to Miami(44-17) as they went up 10-1 and they extended their margin to 16-6 five minutes in. The Heat still had the lead after one quarter 31-23. Washington(33-30) stepped with a 9-2 edge at the start of the second quarter to pull within one point, however they were down at halftime 53-45 when LeBron James scored 10 of the last 12 Heat points in the first half.
The Wizards scored 11 consecutive points during the third and were tied with Heat 73-73 after three quarters. Midway through the fourth quarter, Miami put in 12 straight points to pull ahead 95-84 with 3:13 left.
James, who for the second straight game did not have a free throw attempt, compiled a team-high 23 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. Chris Bosh added 22 points and seven rebounds while Wade contributed 22 points.
Washington got 18 points from Bradley Beale and seven points from John Wall. Marcin Gortat nailed down a double-double for them with 14 points and 18 rebounds.
