Coyotes Squeck By Panthers

     On the second game of their four-game West Coast road trip, the Florida Panthers were edged by the Phoenix Coyotes 2-1 on Thursday night at Jobing.com Arena. The Cats will play two games over the weekend in Southern California against the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks.
     Phoenix(34-25-11) was able to get two goals during the first period. Radim Vrbata scored a power-play goal on a wrist shot at 2:56 and Antoine Vermette put in a rebound shot for a tally with 1:22 remaining in the first.
     It was not until 4:07 left in the third period that Florida(26-36-8) got on the scoreboard. Scott Gomez broke the shutout with a wrist shot over the right shoulder of Mike Smith. Dmitry Kulikov added an assist on the play.
