There is a new leader standing by themselves as the top sports format radio station in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale region as 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM finished on top of their two competitors in February. They have not been alone on top since August 2015 when they were simulcast on an FM signal.
The Ticket went up from a 0.9 to a 1.0 in the month of February. They have gone on with Ethan J. Skolnick as the primary host of the afternoon show with a bunch of fill-in co-hosts and the loss of Joy Taylor from the morning show.
Miami Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM did not hold first place in the market for the first time since last August as they remained at a 0.9 this month. It was helpful that the Florida Panthers stayed in front of the Atlantic Division for the entire ratings period. They also eliminated several of their local weekend shows for CBS Sports Radio.
Miami Sports 940 WINZ-AM fell for the second straight month as they went from a 0.3 to 0.2 in February. The station has lost more than half of their audience since December. It is currently a slow period for the organization between end of the football season and the start of baseball season.
