Two former players of the Miami Dolphins and University of Miami Hurricanes signed as free agents will different clubs on Wednesday. Defensive end Olivier Vernon signed with the New York Giants while running back Lamar Miller joined the Houston Texans.
Vernon was a 3rd round draft pick by the Dolphins back in 2012 and has played four seasons with the team. He did not miss a game in four years with Miami and had 143 solo tackles along with 29 sacks. Vernon got 11.5 sacks in 2013 and 61 combined tackles last season.
Miller was also drafted by the Fins in 2012 during the 4th round. He had 2.930 rushing yards on 638 carries and 19 rushing touchdowns in 61 games with the squad. Miller compiled 1,099 yards rushing and eight touchdowns in the 2014 campaign.
