Panthers Fold To Senators

     The Florida Panthers played their final regular season road game and fell to the Ottawa Senators 3-1 on Thursday night at Canadian Tire Centre. The Cats faced the Sens for the fifth time this season which more than against any other opponent. Florida found out that they will play their first round playoff series against the New York Islanders or New York Rangers.
     Ottawa waited until 1:40 left in the first period on the power play to get ahead 1-0. Erik Karlsson was at the top of the zone and moved it to Mika Zibanejad on the right point. He relayed it to Chris Wideman at the top circle who released a slapshot. Al Montoya made the initial save however Zibanejad backhanded in the rebound from the low slot.
     In the second period, the Senators extended their margin to 2-0 at 10:12. Chris Neil had the puck on the left wing and sent a cross-ice pass to Cody Ceci at the right point. His wrist shot was deflected in by Buddy Robinson in the low right circle for his first NHL goal.
     Florida closed the gap to 2-1 at 4:49 of the third period as Jaromir Jagr compiled his 27th goal of the season. Aleksander Barkov along with Alex Petrovic were credited with assists on the play. The Panthers dropped to 18-2-2 when Jagr scores a goal in a game this season. Ceci gave the Senators the victory on an unassisted goal with 5:46 remaining in the third.
