Cardinal Gibbons will have a tremendous battle for the starting quarterback position between American Heritage transfer Dylan Rizk and Blake Kendall Jr. heading toward the regular season. Rizk ran the offense during their first two possessions in the first half and reached the 25-yard line of the defense. Adrien Alfieri kicked a 43-yard field goal to get the first points for the offense.
Kendall came in for the next two sets. His best effort in the two possessions was to guide them to the opponent's 38-yard line.
Lou Murdoch entered the scrimmage as their third quarterback. He fired a swing pass to the right sideline for 18-yard touchdown just before halftime.
Murdoch went out for his second drive to begin the second half. Cornerback Adonis Allen intercepted a pass and returned it 67 yards for a score.
Rizk reentered the game and marched the Chiefs down the field. He connected a 13-yard pass to Davon Kiser on the right side of the end zone.
The Cardinal Gibbons defense did have some bright spots. Defensive end Mason Thomas was able to sack the quarterback three times.
