Phillies Escape Marlins

The Philadelphia Phillies got by the Miami Marlins 3-2 at loanDepot park on Thursday. Both teams ended up splitting the four-game series. The Marlins will be leaving town to begin a nine-game road trip.
Philadelphia(25-26) pulled ahead 2-0 during the fourth inning. Rhys Hoskins smashed a solo home run to left-center field on a 3-2 pitch. It was the 11th homer of the season for Hoskins. Matt Joyce later hit a sacrifice fly to center field and Odubel Herrera scored.
Miami(24-26) loaded the bases in the fifth inning and compiled one run. Jesus Aguilar drove in Sandy Leon with a sacrifice fly into center field.
In the bottom of the eighth, the Marlins evened it up 2-2. Garrett Cooper knocked in Jose Devers on a singled through the right side.
The Phillies rallied in the ninth inning. Herrera lined a leadoff triple off the right-field wall and scored on a Ronald Torreyes fielder's choice to second.
