Diamondbacks Dodge Marlins

The Arizona Diamondbacks topped the Miami Marlins 5-2 on Monday night at Chase Field. The Marlins have lost their last three games while the Diamondbacks ended a six-game losing streak.
Arizona(16-19) led 1-0 in the bottom of the first. David Peralta grounded into a force out at second base and Pavin Smith crossed the plate.
In the third inning, the Diamondbacks added three more runs to go up 4-0. Asdrubal Cabrera drove in Luke Weaver and Smith with a double into right field. Carson Kelly would later score on a passed ball.
It became 5-0 for the D-backs in the fifth inning. Christian Walker knocked in Peralta with a double to left field.
Miami(15-19) broke the shutout during the eighth inning. Jesus Aguilar smacked a two-run homer to left-center field on a 0-1 pitch with Jon Berti aboard. It was Aguilar's seventh home run of the season.
