Dodgers Dump Marlins

The defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers outscored the Miami Marlins 9-6 at Dodger Stadium on Friday night. The Marlins had their two-game win streak ended. The Dodgers now have a three-game winning streak.
Los Angeles(21-17) piled on eight runs in the bottom of the second. A.J. Pollock hit a ball through the left side and Chris Taylor scored. Austin Barnes came up next and drove in Gavin Lux with a double into left field. Clayton Kershaw followed and brought in Matt Beaty on a base hit up the middle to center. Mookie Betts then doubled down the left-field line and Barnes crossed the plate.
Corey Seager singled through the left side for Kershaw to score. Max Muncy capped the frame as he crushed a three-run homer on a 2-1 pitch over the center-field fence for his eighth home run of the season. Betts and Seager scored in front of him on the play.
Miami(17-21) answered back with four runs during the top of the fourth. Garrett Cooper lined a base hit into right-center field to bring in Magneuris Sierra. Adam Duvall followed and smacked a three-run homer to left field on a 2-2 count with Miguel Rojas and Cooper aboard.
The Marlins added one run and were down 8-5 in the fifth inning. Cooper doubled to left field and Rojas reached home.
It became 9-5 for the Dodgers in the bottom of the seventh. Lux lined out to pitcher Ross Detwiler and he made a throwing error for Justin Turner to score.
The Fish were able to load the bases in the eighth inning. Sandy Leon was hit by a pitch and Brian Anderson scored to make it 9-6.
