Panthers Outscored By Capitals

The Florida Panthers were outdueled by the Washington Capitals 6-3 on Saturday night at Capital One Arena. The Panthers concluded a six-game road trip and barely lead the Atlantic Division.
Alex Ovechkin has 888 career goals and is seven goals away from breaking Wayne Gretzky's NHL all-time record of 894 goals. The Capitals, winners of nine of their past 10 games, have the most points in the National Hockey League this season.
Both Florida (42-25-3) and the Caps interchanged and combined with six goals during the first period for a 3-3 tie. The Panthers had goals from Sam Bennett, Seth Jones and Jonah Gadjovich. Jones collected his first tally with his new club.
Washington(47-15-2) powered by with three goals in the six minutes of the second period. Tom Wilson put in a forehand shot on a breakaway seven seconds into the frame. Dylan Strome would make it a two-goal margin 52 seconds later.
