Central Michigan(2-2) opened up getting a 3-0 lead with 5:56 left in the first quarter. Caden VanHuis was able.to kick a 49-yard field goal.
Miami(4-0) answered back on their next possession with score to make it 7-3. Running back Javian Mallory raced in on a four-yard touchdown with 1:58 to go in the first.
In the second quarter, the Canes took control. Quarterfinals Darian Mensah threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Daylyn Upshaw for a 14-3 advantage at the 12:50 mark.
It became 21-3 for the Hurricanes at 9:45. Wide receiver Malachi Toney caught an eight-yard touchdown pass from Mensah.
The U increased their lead to 28-3 with 3:22 remaining in the second. Mensah fired a 13-yard touchdown strike to wide receiver Cooper Barkate.
The Canes extended it to 35-3 with six seconds left in the first half. Mensah scrambled out of the pocket and scored from five yards away.
In the third quarter, the Hurricanes made it 42-3 with 6:00 to go. Running back Jordan Lyle fumbled the ball near the goal line. It was recovered by offensive lineman Jamal Meriweather in the end zone for the score.
