Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley coached his first game with his new organization. Klint Kubiak was at the helm for the first time with the Raiders.
Las Vegas(1-0) got the only score of the first quarter with 1:33 left for a 7-0 lead. Quarterback Kirk Cousins connected a 15-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Jack Bech on the right side.
In the second quarter, the Raiders extended their lead to 10-0 at 10:22 on a 47-yard field goal from Matt Gay. Miami(0-1) closed it to 10-3 with a 41-yard field goal by Riley Patterson with 4:08 remaining.
It became 17-3 for Las Vegas with 1:07 left in the second. Cousins fired a 13-yard touchdown pass to running back Ashton Jeanty in the middle of the field. Patterson answered back with no time remaining in the first half on a 37-yard field goal and the Fins trailed 17-6.
In the second half, the Dolphins cut the deficit down to 17-13 at the 12:44 mark of the third quarter. Quarterback Malik Willis, playing his first game with his new club, rushed around the right end and down the right sideline on a 14-yard touchdown run.
The Raiders would pull away from the Fins with 9:58 to go in the third. Jeanty caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Cousins on the left side to make it 24-13. Gay would kick a 30-yard field goal with 2:34 remaining in the quarter which gave them a 27-13 advantage.
