Mets Shake Marlins

     The New York Mets stopped the Miami Marlins 9-4 on Monday at loanDepot park. The Marlins were approaching the midway point of their long nine-game homestand. 
     New York(66-78) rolled out to a 2-0 advantage in the opening frame. Bo Bichette reached base on a fielder's choice throwing error and Juan Soto crossed the plate. They later pulled off a double steal and Bichette scored on a throwing error by Joe Mack.
      The Mets extended their lead to 3-0 in the top of the second. Nick Morebito knocked in Brett Baty with a single into center field. 
      Miami(72-73) leaped to a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the second with four runs. Javier Sanoja tripled into the left-center field gap and Jakob Marsee raced home. Two batters later, Graham Pauley smacked a three-run homer to right field on a 1-2 pitch with Sanoja and Owen Caissie aboard. It was the third home run for Pauley in the 2026 campaign.
     It became 4-4 during the third inning. Francisco Alvarez singled up the middle for Marcus Semien to score.
     In the fourth inning, New York regained the lead 7-4. Bichette drove in Francisco Lindor with a base hit into right field. Three batters later, A.J. Ewing doubled down the left-field line for Soto and Carson Benge to score.
      The Mets increased it to 9-4 n the top of the sixth. Semien doubled into the left-field corner and Benge scored. Ewing came up next and singled through the left side to score Semien.
