The Miami Heat retired Shaquille O'Neal's number 32 jersey in a halftime ceremony and they defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 115-107 at American Airlines Arena on Thursday night. The Heat had previously retired number 33 for Alonzo Mourning and number 10 for Tim Hardaway.
It was the first time that both clubs faced each other since the retirement of Kobe Bryant and the departure of Dwyane Wade. Miami(10-20) had beaten the Lakers 13 of the last 15 times. Los Angeles(11-21) has not won a game in Miami since the 2008-09 season.
