The Florida Panthers finished off a short two-game homestand with a 4-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks at BB&T Center on Saturday night. It was the return of Erik Gudbranson who played his first game in Sunrise since being traded by the Panthers during the summer.
Florida(13-12-4) has won every final game of a homestand they played. They made it 5-for-5 in that situation this season.
The Panthers got out to a 2-0 lead in the first two periods of the contest. Aaron Ekblad added another tally 65 seconds into the third period for a three-goal cushion.
Vancouver(12-14-2) bounced back and closed the gap to 3-2 during the third period with goals by former Panther Jack Skille and Daniel Sedin. Florida capped the game with an empty-net goal by Vincent Trocheck with 48 seconds remaining.
