The Miami Heat pulled by the Detroit Pistons 105-96 at American Airlines Arena on Saturday night. The Heat, won have won three of their last four games, ended the contest ahead of the Pistons by four games for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Pistons have lost eight of their last 10 games and are 6-8 since they acquired Blake Griffin.
Detroit(29-34) got out to a 28-27 lead after one quarter and it would be their last lead of the game. Miami(33-30) hit a 32-18 spurt and moved ahead 59-46 by halftime. The Pistons cut into the deficit and still trailed 74-70 after the third quarter. The Heat got ahead 88-81 early in the fourth and then went on a 16-10 run down the stretch.
Josh Richardson and Kelly Olynyk both poured in 17 points for the Heat while Dwyane Wade added 11 points. James Johnson dropped in 14 points, Goran Dragic put up 13 points and Hassan Whiteside compiled 18 rebounds with eight points. Detroit was led by Griffin as he had a game-high 31 points. Andre Drummond put together a double-double of 22 points and 18 rebounds.
