The Miami Heat were edged by the Sacramento Kings 123-119 in overtime on Wednesday night at Golden 1 Center. It was the second game of a three-game road trip for the club. The Heat have lost nine consecutive games on the road and finish their west coast swing against the Lakers in Los Angeles on Friday night.
Miami(36-33) got out to a 31-24 lead after one quarter. They were outscored 35-21 in the second and trailed 59-52 at halftime. Sacramento(22-47) remained on top 91-79 after three quarters until the Heat closed in on them to bring the contest into overtime at 111-111. The Kings went on a 12-8 run in overtime.
Goran Dragic led Miami with a game-high 33 points while Wayne Ellington came off the bench with 22 points. James Johnson compiled a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds. Zach Randolph dropped 22 points for the Kings and Buddy Hield poured in 24.
