The Miami Heat returned home following a three-game west coast road trip and got a 149-141 double overtime victory over the Denver Nuggets on Monday night at American Airlines Arena. The Heat have won their last two games. The Nuggets were playing their second game of a seven-game road swing.
Denver(38-33) started ahead 16-5 in just over three minutes into the game with 11 unanswered points. The Heat were down 37-36 after one quarter and had the advantage 64-63 at halftime. Miami(38-33) still had a one-point lead 92-91 after three quarters.
Both clubs were tied 118-118 at the end of regulation and 128-128 after the first overtime. The Heat outscored the Nuggets 21-13 in the second overtime.
The Heat had plenty of scoring at James Johnson had a double-double of 31 points along with 11 rebounds while Kelly Olynyk dropped in 30 points. Wayne Ellington poured in 23 points, Goran Dragic got 20 points and Josh Richardson had 17. Nikola Jokic compiled a game-high 34 points and 14 rebounds for Denver.
