The Miami Dolphins have released center Mike Pouncey from his contract. Pouncey joined the Dolphins as a first-round draft pick and 15th overall in 2011. He played 93 games in seven seasons with the club.
Pouncey was first noticed in the state of Florida as a high school offensive lineman with the Lakeland Dreadnaughts. He and his brother Maurkice helped the school capture three consecutive FHSAA Class 6A state championships from 2004 to 2006. Pouncey attended the University of Florida and won the 2008 BCS National Championship with the Gators.
