The Miami Heat halted a nine-game road losing streak and stopped the Los Angeles Lakers 92-91 at Staples Center on Friday night. It was the first road win for the Heat since January 29 in Dallas. The Heat have won 14 of the last 18 meetings between both clubs.
Miami(37-33) had a 25-24 edge in the first quarter and were tied with the Los Angeles(31-38) at halftime 50-50. The Heat moved slightly ahead 74-71 after three quarters.
They went on an 11-2 spurt to go up 85-79 midway through the final quarter. The Lakers answered back with a 12-5 run to take a 91-90 lead. Goran Dragic would get the game-winning basket with 7.5 seconds left to make it 92-91.
The Heat were led by Dragic and his 30 points. Kelly Olynyk added 17 points while James Johnson contributed 12. Julius Randle compiled a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds for the Lakers. Brook Lopez dropped in 18 points and Kyle Kuzma put in 11 points.
