Braves Speed By Marlins In Game 1

The Atlanta Braves dashed by the Miami Marlins 9-5 in Game 1 of the National League Division Series. The Braves lead the best-of-five series 1-0 over the Marlins. Both teams met each other in the National League playoffs back in 1997.
The entire series is being played at a neutral site which is Minute Maid Park in Houston. Unless previous playoff series, all contests will be played on consecutive days without any one-day breaks for travel.
Atlanta wasted no time to go ahead in the first inning. Ronald Acuna Jr. smacked a leadoff solo home run to right-center field on a 0-1 pitch.
Miami evened it up 1-1 in the top of the second. Miguel Rojas powered a solo homer to left field on a 1-0 count with none out.
The Marlins captured the lead in the third inning. Garrett Cooper lined a double down the left-field line to score Magneuris Sierra and Jon Berti. Brian Anderson followed with a base hit into left-center field which brought in Cooper for a 4-1 lead.
The Braves got a rally in the bottom of the frame to close the gap. Acuna was hit by a pitch and went to first. Two batters later, former Marlins player Marcell Ozuna drilled a double through the left side to the left-field fence and Acuna scored. Travis d'Arnaud then drove in Ozuna with a double into left field to make it 4-3.
In the seventh inning, Atlanta overtook the Marlins with six runs. Ozuna knocked in Austin Riley on a single to left field. It was followed by a three-run homer to center field on a 2-0 count by d'Arnaud with Freddie Freeman and Ozuna aboard. Two batters later, Dansby Swanson cracked a two-run home run to left-center field on the first pitch and Ozzie Albies scored in front of him to pull ahead 9-4.
The Fish picked up one run in the eighth inning and trailed 9-5. Matt Joyce knocked in Anderson with a base hit to left field.
