TRU Prep Academy At St. Thomas Aquinas Preview

The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders open up their 2020 season as they host the TRU Prep Academy Saints at Brian Piccolo Stadium in Fort Lauderdale on Friday night. Both teams are top South Florida high schools that can contend for a state championship.
TRU Prep Academy(3-0) have already played in three contests this season. They have impressive victories over Akelynn's Angels Christian Academy 44-6, Palm Glades Prep Academy 61-0 and defending Class 2A state champion Champagnat Catholic 47-29. A good portion of players on their roster had transferred from University School. Quarterback Nick Vattiato can guide the Saints down the field on offense. His primary targets on passes are wide receivers Brandon Inniss and Vincent Pagano. Running back Max Balthazar will get most of their carries from the backfield.
St. Thomas Aquinas(0-0) is the defending FHSAA Class 7A state champions and begin a tough schedule for this year. STA is currently on a 15-game winning streak and have not lost a contest since the 2018 Class 7A state title game against Lakeland. The Raiders offense will be led by quarterback Zion Turner. He can run out of the pocket at anytime and can throw the ball to any place on the field. Running back Anthony Hankerson is expected to get his share of rushing opportunities.
