The Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs defeated the Doral Academy Firebirds 35-3 at Dr. Bud Tight Field in Fort Lauderdale on Friday night. The contest at The Furnace was held up for over one hour due to a weather delay.

The Chiefs scored on their next possession with 2:08 left in the first. Palhegyi connected an 18-yard pass on the left hash marks to wide receiver Bryson Williams.
Early in the second quarter, Cardinal Gibbons had a 21-point margin. Wide receiver Davon Kiser went up the middle untouched from 12 yards out after catching a pass from Palhegyi.
Doral Academy(1-2) surrendered another touchdown with 1:08 remaining in the second. Palhegyi found wide receiver Troy Stellato on the right side of the zone from 14 yards away.
The Cardinal Gibbons defense scored a touchdown on the third play of the third quarter. Firebirds quarterback Keyonvis Bouie fumbled the ball and linebacker Josh Oliver returned it 25 yards to the end zone. A running clock was used once the Chiefs had a 35-0 lead.
