Canucks Ice Panthers

The Vancouver Canucks scrapped the Florida Panthers 5-3 on Saturday night at Amerant Bank Arena. The Panthers continued their four-game homestand.
Vancouver(3-2-0) raced out to a 1-0 lead at 11:29 of the first period as Quinn Hughes scored on a wrist shot during the man advantage. Aleksander Barkov tied it up 1-1 for Florida(2-3-0) just 20 seconds later for his first tally of the year.
The second period would belong to the Canucks. Carson Soucy put in his first career power-play goal on a wrist shot with 9:29 left in the frame. They extended it to 3-1 when Elias Pettersson released a wrist shot by Sergei Bobrovsky for his second goal this season just 34 seconds later.
The Panthers would chop at the lead twice in the third period and they were tied 3-3. Sam Reinhart scored on backhand shot at the 6:01 mark and a snap shot with 5:59 to go. He is the leading Cats scorer with six goals in 2023-24.
Vancouver reclaimed the lead 4-3 as Andrei Kuzmenko scored on a shot with 4:57 remaining. Brock Boeser chalked up his sixth goal of the season on a wrist shot with 2:10 left in the third for a 5-3 advantage.
