Panthers Crack Kraken

The Florida Panthers overcame a two-goal deficit to knock off the Seattle Kraken 3-2 at Amerant Bank Arena on Saturday night. The Panthers completed a four-game homestand with a 3-1-0 record. The Kraken continued their road trip throughout the southeast.
Seattle(2-5-2) took a 1-0 lead on the fourth goal of the 2023-24 campaign by former Panthers player Jared McCann. He skated through the right circle into the crease arena and finished the play on a backhand shot at 7:58 of the first period. Eeli Tolvanen deflected a shot from the top of the crease into the cage at the 7:34 mark to give the Kraken a 2-0 lead.
Florida(4-3-0) mounted a comeback beginning at the midway point of the game with two goals in an 11-second span. Gustav Forsling blasted a one-time slap shot from the top of the zone on the power play for his first tally of the year at 8:53. Matthew Tkachuk chalked up his first goal of the season at 9:04 with a redirected shot from the inner left circle.
In the third period, the Panthers got the go-ahead goal with 5:52 left for 3-2 lead. Nick Cousins scored on a backhand shot into a wide-open net from the right of the crease. It followed a weird bounce off the left-corner boards after a dump in by Josh Mahura from the red line.
