Phillies Take Marlins In Game 1

The Philadelphia Phillies topped the Miami Marlins 4-1 in Game 1 of the National League Wild-Card Series at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday night. It is the first time that both National League East Division clubs have met each other in a postseason game. The Marlins will try to avoid elimination in Game 2 tomorrow.
Philadelphia jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third. Alec Bohm doubled down the left-field line for Johan Rojas to score.
The Phillies expanded it with two runs in the fourth inning for a 3-0 lead. Bryson Stott singled into center field and former Marlins player J.T. Realmuto crossed the plate. Cristian Pache followed with a base hit up the middle and Stott scored.
Miami closed it to 3-1 in the top of the seventh. Bryan De La Cruz got an infield single to third and Josh Bell reached home.
It became 4-1 for the Phils in the bottom of the eighth. Nick Castellanos knocked in Bryce Harper on a double to the left-field fence.
