Joe Thornton Retires

Joe Thornton announced his retirement from the National Hockey League on Saturday. He did not participate in the NHL last season.
Thornton spent most of his 24-season career with the Boston Bruins and the San Jose Sharks. He was never able to capture a Stanley Cup title.
He played his final season in 2021-22 with the Florida Panthers and helped them win the Presidents' Trophy. Thornton compiled five goals and five assists for 10 points in 34 games that campaign.
