Sandy Alcantara Gone For 2024 Season

Miami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara will not be playing for the club in the 2024 season. He had Tommy John surgery performed on him today.
Alcantara has been with the Marlins franchise since the 2018 season when he was involved in a five-player trade for Marcell Ozuna. He has been named to the National League All-Star Team twice in 2019 and 2022. He helped the Marlins reached the postseason for the first time in 17 years back in 2020.
His best season was in 2022 with a 14-9 record and a 2.28 earned run average in a major-league high 228 2/3 innings pitched. Alcantara was named the National League Cy Young Award winner that year.
