2024 NHL All-Star Game Semifinals

The 2024 NHL All-Star Game was held on Saturday at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Four different drafted teams were involved with three-on-three play in two semifinals games and one final contest.
Team McDavid came from behind to top Team MacKinnon 4-3 with a shootout in the first semifinal contest. The first period ended up tied at 1-1 between both squads.
Florida Panthers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky entered the game for Team McDavid for the start of the second period. He surrendered a goal to Oliver Bjorkstrand with 4:09 left in the second and they trailed 2-1. Nathan MacKinnon raced through the defense and chipped a backhand shot by Bobrovsky from the top of the crease with 3:15 remaining and Team MacKinnon led 3-1.
Team McDavid pulled their goalie for an extra attacker. David Pastrnak snapped a shot from the slot area with 31.5 seconds to go. They did it again as Connor McDavid put it in from the right of the crease with 5.4 seconds left to even it up 3-3.
In the shootout, McDavid scored on the team's first attempt and Pastrnak converted on their third attempt past Jeremy Swayman for the victory. Bobrovsky was able to stop Sidney Crosby and MacKinnon.
Panthers center Sam Reinhart had no points, one shot and a +2 rating in the first contest. He shared a line with Robert Thomas of the St. Louis Blues and Rasmus Dahlin of the Buffalo Sabres.
The second semifinal involved the Toronto Maple Leafs stacked Team Matthews against Team Hughes. It turned out that Team Matthews won 6-5 in a shootout. Former Panther Frank Vatrano compiled two goals for Team Hughes.
