Flyers Slug Panthers

The Florida Panthers fell to the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 at Amerant Bank Arena on Tuesday night. It was the Panthers and the Flyers first contests since the NHL All-Star Game break.
The Cats lost their first game in regulation time after scoring first. Their mark in those occasions is 20-1-4.
Florida(31-15-4) roared out to a 1-0 lead with the man advantage at the 9:22 mark of the opening period. Carter Verhaeghe carried the puck from above the left circle and placed in a wrist shot from the left-circle dot past Samuel Ersson for his 25th goal of the campaign.
Philadelphia(26-19-6) was able to tie it 1-1 with 6:27 remaining in the second period. Sean Walker sent a long pass from his own end and it was touched by Joel Farabee at the Panthers blue line. Travis Konecny got his 23rd goal this season when he raced through the slot area alone and flicked a forehand shot from the top of the crease by Anthony Stolarz.
In the third period, the Flyers moved ahead 2-1 at 2:35. Gustav Forsling turned the puck over on a cross-ice diagonal pass in his own zone. Noah Cates skated with the puck from the high slot to the crease area and scored his second tally of the year on a wrist shot.
