Flyers Skip By Panthers

The Florida Panthers returned home following a three-game sweep of their road trip and lost to the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 on Thursday night at Amerant Bank Arena. The Panthers, who have won 16 of their past 19 games, had their six-game overall winning streak and six-game home winning streak snapped.
Vladimir Tarasenko made his debut with Florida and wore the number 10. His uniform number was 91 with three NHL teams he previously played for.
The Flyers are in third place in the Atlantic Division. They defeated the Panthers by the same score at the same venue earlier this season back on February 6.
Neither team had a goal during the first frame. Philadelphia(33-23-8) quickly scored 10 seconds into the second period. Travis Sanheim sent a square pass to Cam York at the center-ice circle. He made an outlet pass to Ryan Poehling at the left point. Poehling dashed through the left circle and released a wrist shot from the left of the crease by Sergei Bobrovsky for his eighth goal of the campaign.
Florida(43-17-4) tied it 1-1 at the 7:12 mark of the second. Anton Lundell connected a cross-ice pass from the left circle to Aaron Ekblad in the right circle. He fed the puck to the top of the zone and Gustav Forsling chalked up his 10th goal this season as he snapped a shot past Samuel Ersson.
The Flyers pulled ahead 2-1 with 21.3 seconds left in the third period. Former Panther Marc Staal took a slap shot from the left point which was saved. Garnet Hathaway steered in the rebound from the left of the crease for his seventh tally of the season.
