Sam Reinhart 50th Goal & Panthers Plant Flyers

The Florida Panthers exacted revenge on the Philadelphia Flyers 4-1 at Wells Fargo Center on Sunday night. The Flyers had already won the season series between both teams with two victories earlier this year in Sunrise. The Panthers set a franchise record with their 25th road win of the season.
Sam Reinhart collected his 50th goal of the season. It was the third time that it has happened in Florida Panthers franchise history. Pavel Bure accomplished it first on March 18, 2000 at Nassau Coliseum against the New York Islanders. Bure reached the 50-goal mark in the following season.
The Cats snapped a four-game winless streak. They will host the Boston Bruins on Tuesday in a battle between the two top teams in the Atlantic Division standings with first place on the line.
Florida(46-20-5) broke out to a 1-0 advantage with 9:27 to go in the first period. Brandon Montour crossed the Flyers blue line and made a square pass to Anton Lundell. He sent a cross-ice from the left circle and Reinhart released a wrist shot from the high slot by Felix Sandstrom for his 49th goal this season.
The Panthers increased it to 2-0 on a power-play goal just 55 seconds into the second period. Montour forwarded the puck with a backhand pass from the neutral zone. Reinhart connected a cross-ice pass from the left wing. Vladimir Tarasenko skated to the inner right circle and snapped a shot for his 20th goal of the campaign. It was the eighth time in his NHL career that he has reached the 20-goal mark in a season.
In the third period, the Cats made it a three-goal margin at 4:43. Montour poked the puck and then Sam Bennett pushed up an outlet pass from his own zone. Carter Verhaeghe rushed through the left side down the ice and released a wrist shot from the left circle for his 32nd goal of the season.
Philadelphia(36-27-9) pulled their goalie with 7:30 to go and broke the shutout with 7:06 left in the third on a power-play tally. Bobby Brink chalked up his 10th goal of the year with a forehand shot from left side of the crease past Anthony Stolarz.
Reinhart got his 50th goal of the season with 1:12 remaining in the third. Eetu Luostarinen centered the puck on a backhand pass from the right corner and Reinhart blasted a slap shot from the slot area into an empty net. Reinhart also set a personal season-high record with his 83rd point. He compiled 82 points during his first Panthers season in 2021-22.
