New Jersey Devils Fire Lindy Ruff

The New Jersey Devils have let go head coach Lindy Ruff. He has been at the helm for the Devils since the start of the 2020-21 season.
He is currently fourth all-time in NHL coaching wins with 864. Florida Panthers head coach Paul Maurice is now the active leader in coaching wins at 858.
Ruff was an assistant coach with the Florida Panthers during their first four seasons as an NHL franchise from 1993-94 to 1996-97. He had stints as a head coach with the Buffalo Sabres, Dallas Stars and New Jersey Devils.
The ironic thing of New Jersey releasing him was that Tom Fitzgerald is the head of their hockey operations department. Fitzgerald played with the same Florida team at the same time when Ruff on the coaching staff of Roger Nielsen and Doug MacLean.
