Philadelphia(1-2) rocketed out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Three batters in, Bryce Harper blasted a three-run homer to right field on the first pitch with Adam Haseley and Rhys Hoskins scoring. Jay Bruce later drove in Jean Segura with a triple to right.
The Marlins cut the entire deficit during the second inning. Jesus Aguilar belted a solo home run to right-center field on a 1-1 pitch for his second homer of the series. The Fish tied it up 4-4 when Miguel Rojas smacked a three-run homer to left field on a 0-0 count which brought in Brian Anderson and Isan Diaz.
The Phillies retook the lead 5-4 in the bottom of the frame. A wild pitch to the backstop moved Haseley to third. An errant throw by Francisco Cervelli went down the left-field line and Haseley crossed the plate.
Miami(2-1) regained the lead 6-5 in the top of the fourth. Rojas tripled into right field to score Diaz. Magneuris Sierra then chopped a ball up the middle over a drawn-in infield for a double and Rojas scored.
In the fifth inning, the Fish extended the gap to 9-5. Brian Anderson sliced the ball down the right-field line for a three-run shot. Corey Dickerson and Aguilar were able to score in front of him. \
Both clubs added a run during the sixth inning. Dickerson cracked a solo home run to right-center field for Miami on a first pitch and gave them a five-run margin. The Phillies matched it as Haseley knocked in Phil Gosselin on a double to left.
The Marlins made it 11-6 in the top of the seventh. Sierra drove in Rojas with a triple to deep center field.
