The series will begin with Game 1 on August 1 as the Islanders designated the home team. They meet again with the Panthers as the road team in Game 2 on August 4.
Florida will be the home club for Game 3 on August 5 and a possible Game 4 on August 7. Game 5 if it is necessary will have New York as the home club and the Panthers as the visitors on August 9.
Both the Panthers and Islanders have prior playoff history against each other. Florida fell to the Islanders in six games during the 2016 Eastern Conference quarterfinals.
Their may be a couple of advantages being the home team at a neutral site. One is that they will have the final choice of sending up personnel for any faceoff during the contest.
