The Marlins will play the Braves again in another exhibition contest on Wednesday. They visit the Phillies in Philadelphia for their season opener on Friday.
Miami hit home runs in three consecutive at-bats in the third inning. Jorge Alfaro lined a homer down the left-field foul line, followed by a Miguel Rojas home run to left field and then Jonathan Villar finished it off with a towering solo shot to center field.
The Marlins extended their lead to 6-0 during the top of the fifth. Corey Dickerson knocked in Rojas and Villar with a two-run single into center field. Jesus Aguilar came up next and drove in Brian Anderson on a single to left.
The Fish had an 8-1 in the middle of the eighth after Francisco Cervelli ripped a double to left field which brought in Garrett Cooper and Sean Rodriguez. Atlanta responded with eight runs in the bottom of the frame to move ahead 9-8
In the ninth inning, Miami tied it up 9-9. Jesus Sanchez nailed a solo home run to right field on a 1-0 pitch.
The Braves capitalized being the home team in the bottom of the ninth. Mike Adams, who signed with Atlanta on Monday, smashed a walk-off home run to right on a 0-1 count for the victory.
