Heat Slip By Magic

The Miami Heat finished a four-game road trip with a 112-110 overtime win over the Orlando Magic at Amway Center on New Year's Eve. It was the first game this season between the in-state rivals as the Heat ended their two-game losing streak. Miami had just seven turnovers in the game.
Orlando(12-19) jumped off to an 8-3 edge in the first three minutes of the game. Miami(21-8) then scored ten straight points en route to a 17-5 streak. The Heat were up 31-22 after one quarter of play. The Magic outscored their opponent 32-17 in the second quarter and led 54-48 at halftime.
With a one-minute exception, the Magic were up the entire quarter and were ahead 77-70 after three quarters. The Heat fired in nine consecutive points to begin the fourth quarter to regain the lead 79-77 with 9:11 left. Neither team had more than a four-point margin for the rest of regulation as Chris Bosh tied the game at 99-99 on a field goal with 35 seconds remaining.
LeBron James had 10 of Miami's 13 points in overtime to give them the victory. Dwyane Wade intercepted a cross-court pass and went for an uncontested dunk with under seven seconds to put the game out of reach.
James had 36 points and 11 assists and eight rebounds in 48 minutes for the Heat. Bosh knocked down 22 points in 38 minutes and Ray Allen had 17 points with four steals in 33 minutes. Wade poured in 21 points in 40 minutes.
Nikola Vukevic had a double-double by halftime for Orlando and finished with 20 points and 29 rebounds in 47 minutes. It was the most rebounds by an opposing player in a game against the Heat franchise in their 25-year history. Magic reserve J.J Redick contributed 23 points in 36 minutes while Aaron Afflalo scored 28 points in 46 minutes.
