Jim Rome did his final show on 940 The Sports Animal WINZ-AM on December 21 and will join CBS Sports Radio Network on January 2. His show, nicknamed The Jungle, was distributed by Premiere Radio Networks and carried by Fox Sports Radio. Rome was heard locally on Fox Sports Radio 940 WRFX-AM from January 2002 until July 2004 and again on WINZ from April 2009 until December 2012.
He will be replaced on the midday shift by actor and comedian Jay Mohr as of January 2. Mohr has been a fill-in host for Rome for several years on Fox Sports Radio. His most known acting role was working alongside Tom Cruise as competing sports agent Bob Sugar in the movie Jerry Maguire back in 1996.
