The Florida Panthers were barely beaten by the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2 at Amalie Arena on Saturday night. The Cats have lost five consecutive games and eight of their last nine.
Florida(29-27-11) compiled two goals during the first period. Jaromir Jagr scored in his second straight game at 16:32. It was his 16th goal this season and 763rd NHL goal. Mark Pysyk also put in a tally in his second consecutive game with 47 seconds left in the first.
Tampa Bay(32-26-9) battled back with two goals in the second period to tie it up. Nikita Kucherov nailed his 31st goal of the season at 3:43 and Yanni Gorde put in an unassisted goal at 10:11.
In the third period, the Bolts took the eventual lead with 2:23 remaining. Ondrej Palat scored the go-ahead goal to give the victory to the Lightning.
