Olli Jokinen retired as a Florida Panther on Tuesday prior the Panthers game against the New York Rangers. Jokinen had not played in a National Hockey League game since the 2014-15 season.
Jokinen played eight seasons with Florida from 2000-01 until 2007-08. He finished as the Panthers all-time leader with 181 goals and 419 points in 567 games with the Cats. Jokinen was acquired by Florida along with Roberto Luongo for Mark Parrish and Oleg Kvasha in June 2000.
He never appeared in the playoffs during his time with the club. Jokinen was named the fifth captain in team history and held that spot for several seasons.
