Chaminade-Madonna Blanks Berkeley Prep For 3A Title

     The Chaminade-Madonna Lions shut out the Berkeley Prep Buccaneers 21-0 in the FHSAA Class 3A state championship contest on Friday night at Gene Cox Stadium in Tallahassee. The Lions captured their fourth Class 3A state title in the last five years and sixth overall.  
     The Lions were making their sixth consecutive championship game appearance. The Buccaneers showed up in their first state title game in school history.  
     Chaminade-Madonna(11-1) moved out to a 7-0 lead on the final play of the first quarter. Running back Davion Guise busted up the middle from two yards away. 
     The Lions made it 14-0 at the 9:26 mark of the third quarter. Quarterback Cedrick Bailey connected a 33-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Jeremiah Smith in the middle of the field. 
     Berkeley Prep(12-1) surrendered another score with 10:09 left in the fourth quarter and trailed 21-0. Guise sprinted around the right end and down the right hash marks from 22 yards out.
