Miami Northwestern At Jesuit Preview

     The Miami Northwestern Bulls travel to Tampa and take on the Jesuit Tigers in a Class 6A state semifinal clash on Friday night. The winner will challenge the Pine Forest or Jones two weeks from now in the FHSAA Class 6A championship game two weeks. 
     Miami Northwestern(10-3) has piled on a ton of points during the postseason. The Bulls pounded Fort Myers 71-19 in the regional quarterfinal, outlasted Naples 49-35 in the regional semifinal and took care of Plantation 57-14 in the regional final. They have outscored their opponents 501-280 this season. 
     Quarterback Taron Dickens looks to guide the Bulls offense down the field. Running back Jamari Ford will get the bulk of the carries followed by Marlin Cochran and King Davis. Jenkins can fire passes to wide receivers Daverrick Jenkins, Adrian Harris, Andre Jean, Rashad Davis and Jaiden Freckleton. 
     Jesuit(13-0) got statewide recognition in Week 2 when they knocked off two-time defending Class 7A state champion St. Thomas Aquinas. The Tigers are undefeated, compiled shutouts in six of their last seven games and have outscored their opponents 496-85 this year. They hammered Boca Ciega 50-0 in a regional quarterfinal, knocked off Braden River 49-9 in a regional semifinal and blanked Hillsborough 42-0 in a regional final. 
     Running back Joquez Smith will get the majority of carries for the Tigers from the backfield along with Ian Wilson. Quarterback Luke Knight can toss the ball to wide receivers Junior Vandeross, Jadyn Girard, Jarriett Buie, Carter French and Bryson Goodwin for pass receptions.
