South Florida High Schools In State Championship

     Five South Florida high schools reached the state championship game in the 2021 FHSAA Football Playoffs. There were seven teams that made it to the state semifinals. Six South Florida schools advanced to the championship round in 2020 and seven local teams showed up in 2019. 
     All three Broward County representatives were victorious in the state semifinal round. St. Thomas Aquinas, Cardinal Gibbons and Chaminade-Madonna all won home games. 
     Two Dade County teams advanced to the championship contest. Miami Central and Champagnat Catholic were able to win while Miami Northwestern and Columbus fell. 
     There were no Palm Beach County high schools in the state semifinals. One team from St. Lucie County appeared in a state semifinal, however Treasure Coast was defeated.
