Florida State University High At Chaminade-Madonna Preview

     The Chaminade-Madonna Lions host the Florida State University High Seminoles on Friday night at Vince Zappone Field in a Class 3A state semifinal. The winner will face either Berkeley Prep or Lakeland Christian in the FHSAA Class 3A championship game in Tallahassee next week. 
     Florida State University High(11-1) have won seven consecutive games. The Seminoles have outscored their opponents 409-146 this year. They slammed Episcopal School of Jacksonville 55-13 in a regional quarterfinal, routed Walton 55-7 in a regional semifinal and edged Trinity Catholic 17-12 in a regional final. 
     The Seminoles can go with Drew Faurot or Tre Donaldson at quarterback. They will split their handoffs between running backs Rhyder Poppell and Micahi Danzy. Wide receivers Brooks Hickman, Brody Brooks, Geordan Henderson and Kesean Inman look to make catches. 
     Chaminade-Madonna(9-1) looks to reach the FHSAA Class 3A state championship game for the sixth consecutive year. After a two-point loss to American Heritage in Week 2, the Lions have compiled eight straight victories which included three shutouts. They have outscored their opponents 332-101 this season. The Lions have not been scored upon in the postseason as they bashed Miami Edison 45-0 in the regional semifinal and wiped out Cardinal Newman 48-0 in the regional final. 
     Quarterback Cedrick Bailey intends to guide the Lions offense down the field. Running backs Davion Gause, Duane Thomas Jr. and Jeremiah Avrilien will get their rushing opportunities. Bailey can connect passes to wide receivers Edwin Joseph and Jeremiah Smith.
