Marlins Shut Out Mets

The Miami Marlins blanked the New York Mets 2-0 at Citi Field in 100 innings on Sunday. It was the second straight game that both teams played in extra innings. Miami picked up their fourth shutout of the 2022 campaign.
The Marlins have been victorious in eight of their 11 contests. The Fish will play their next seven games at home before the 2022 All-Star Game break. They will face the Pittsburgh Pirates in four games followed by the Philadelphia Phillies in three contests.
Both Miami(41-43) and New York(53-33) were held scoreless in the first nine innings. The Marlins eventually took the lead 1-0 lead when pinch-runner Billy Hamilton stole third base and advanced home on a throwing error by Mets catcher Tomas Nido. Five batters later, Luke Williams singled into center field and Jesus Sanchez crossed the plate.
