Marlins Sweep Nationals

The Miami Marlins held off the Washington Nationals 3-2 in 10 innings at Nationals Park on Monday. The Marlins swept the four-game wraparound weekend series versus the Nationals.
Miami(38-40) finished with a 5-2 record during their seven-game road trip. Washington(29-53) has lost five straight games. The Fish will play their next two games at home against Mike Trout and the Los Angeles Angels.
It was the first four-game sweep in franchise history for the Marlins over the Nationals. Miami is 12-1 when they faced Washington this year and 26-39 versus the rest of baseball in 2022.
The Marlins scored two runs in the top of the 10th to go up 3-1. Bryan De La Cruz walloped a two-run homer to left-center field on a 1-0 pitch with Miguel Rojas aboard. The Nats picked up one run in the bottom of the frame and trailed 3-2. Maikel Franco crossed home plate on a double play.
