Glades Central Beats Dwyer

In what many consider to be the best two high school football teams in Palm Beach County, the Glades Central Raiders hosted and defeated the Dwyer Panthers 24-10 in front of a national-televised audience. The Raiders scored in the first ten seconds of the game as William Likely returned a kickoff 98 yards. Panthers kicker Bobby Puyol knocked in a 37-yard field goal midway through the first quarter. Dwyer took their only lead of the game 10-7 with 4:30 left in the first half as wide receiver Clinton Stephens caught a 24-yard pass from quarterback Faton Bauta. There was no scoring in the third quarter, but Glades Central put up 17 points in the final quarter using three different quarterbacks. Tanner Redish found wide receiver Jamie Wilson four yards out on the right side at 9:57. Bauta then fumbled the ball away on Dwyer's first play of their next drive. Gregory Davis followed with a long 45-yard touchdown pass down the right sideline to a jumping Likely at 9:22. Following a three-and-out by the Panthers, Giovanni Lugo kicked a 35-yard field goal with 7:42 left. Glades Central is now 6-0 in their rivalry with Dwyer.
