Panthers Take Second Game Of Doubleheader
After losing 5-3 in game one of a preseason exhibition doubleheader, the Florida Panthers took game two in a come-from-behind 4-3 victory over the Nashville Predators at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise. The Predators scored on their first shot of the game as defensemen Teemu Laakso blasted a right point shot over the right shoulder of Panthers goalie Scott Clemmensen just 59 seconds in. Nashville increased the lead on their third shot on goal at 4:21. Left wing Ryan Thang backhanded a feed in the crease from center Blake Geoffrion over Clemmensen. The Panthers bounced back at 15:51 as left wing Eric Selleck slid the puck between the pads of goalie Anders Lindbeck from the right side of the crease. In the second period, Florida tied the game at 2-2 on a power play goal by Jonathan Huberdeau, who deflected a right point point shot by defensemen Erik Gudbranson, at 4:03. Nashville retook the lead at 16:33 as Geoffrion wristed a shot from the inner left wing circle from a Matt Halischuk pass. The Panthers came back in the third period. Center Mike Santorelli put in a power play goal in front of the crease at 8:12 from a right side pass from Huberdeau. Less than one minute later, Florida center Tim Kennedy finished off a scramble in front for their first lead of the game 4-3. The Panthers play back-to-back preseason games later this week against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
