Marlins Lose In Atlanta
The Florida Marlins finished off a three-game series in Atlanta as the Braves came back to win 4-1. The Marlins scored first as left fielder Greg Dobbs hit a solo home run on a 1-2 pitch to right field in the second inning. It was his eighth homer this season. Florida got four hits in the game, but none after the fifth inning when Braves rookie pitcher Randall Delgado left the game. Marlins starting pitcher Ricky Nolasco(10-11) held Atlanta scoreless for six innings. The Braves finally got to him in the seventh inning. Following a Dan Uggla walk and a Brian McCann single, Uggla scored on a bunt single by Martin Prado. Former Marlin shortstop Alex Gonzalez would then hit a two-out three-run homer to left field to give the Braves their first lead. Nolasco went seven innings and gave up four runs on five hits. The Marlins travel to Philadelphia to take on the Phillies Thursday in a make-up doubleheader. Both games were postponed in the last weekend of August due to the impending impact of Hurricane Irene.
